Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for several adults to help our Pack!
We have 4 positions open. Please reach out to us at admin@pack781.com for more information. We would love to chat with any members about these roles and how they can help our pack. With a pack of our size it takes help from many people to make it run smoothly and we are so excited to continue to grow and have fun with our Scouts!
1) Fundraising Chair(s) -
The Fundraising Chair is one of the most important roles in our pack! Through our fall popcorn sales we are able to fund all our pack activities, camping events, summer camp, and even provide Class B uniforms, neckerchiefs, and slides to all scouts.
Fundraising has multiple roles including working with Trails End to order popcorn and sign up for our slots at the stores. Then within the pack the Fundraising Chair works to get scouts exciting to sell, have parents sign up for the shifts, and coordinate the day off popcorn pickups.
While we need a chairperson, we would also love to have a committee of at least 2-3 additional people to help with as it is funds our pack for the year.
The majority of this role is done during August and September, but there is some work during other months.
2) Activities Chair -
The Activities Chair helps plan many of our monthly Pack events. These events include: Ice Cream Socials, Raingutter Regatta, Scouting for Food Drive, Hometown Heroes, Caroling, Animal Awareness, Rocket Black, Douglas County Parade.
The Activities Chair also works with Dens and the Cubmaster to plan the camp-in, Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold, Advancement, and June camp-out.
The Activities Chair is able to bring new and exciting ideas to the pack to make Scouting alive, fun, and fresh!
3) Advancement Chair -
The Advancement Chair's role is to purchase the loops, pins, and emblems that Scouts earn after completing adventures. This will require trips to the Scout Store especially in the fall and around advancements in February and April.
The Advancement Chair also needs to maintain an inventory of all loops, pins, emblems, and patches the pack owns.
The Advancement Chair would be on the committee to help plan the AoL advancement in February and the other rank advancements in April, but is not expected to host those events.
4) Member Coordinator -
The Member Coordinator helps advertise and grow our pack. They will do meet and greet events at local schools in August and enroll new members throughout the year.
The Member Coordinator manages the blue Class B uniforms as well as neckerchiefs and slides for new members.
